Fairhaven Cares!

Principal’s Blog

This last month, Fairhaven Middle School families and staff came together to help fulfill the needs and wishes of children across our district. Counselors from several schools compiled wishlists for families that are going through difficult times. We dubbed this initiative “Operation Snowflake”. We started with the hope of fulfilling the wishes for 25 families in Bellingham and ended up supporting almost twice as many.

Every day, we saw more and more donations and gifts come into the office from Parents, students, and staff for Operation Snowflake. On Monday, December 11th, Fairhaven families came together in the FMS commons to wrap gifts and organize the donations that were brought in. All were delivered by the end of the week.

A big thank you goes out to our PTSA mom’s that spearheaded Operation Snowflake: Carmen Gilmore, Kate Wearn, and Dorothy Watson. These women were infectious with their amazing energy and compassion, taking on what was at first a small quiet operation and making it into something the whole community embraced. Great job ladies! I am proud to have your families as an important part of Fairhaven!

What a way to show our love for our community. FAIRHAVEN CARES!
